It’s a series of works, the result of a game with the constructive idea of a bezel - made traditionally for setting stone therein; although in these case we have no settings, but the “Pedrita” the own inverted bezel. A bezel without a stone, a small bezel that is its own stone, a stone of silver.
With that work I was, humorously, playing with traditional conceptions and technics of jewellery as a method to find my own intentions with my jewellery work.
At the same time, I was thinking about as known issue “Is craft compatible with repeat production?”, a debate that is polemic, which seemed to be a good reason to experiment my own answer to the question.
A work of three steps: first I freely created 5 different “Pedrita”, that contains the DNA of my gesture, organic angle, and format. Secondly, I reproduced them by the lost wax casting process. Thus, my 5 unique pieces became 5 modules. The series is the result of a multiplicity of compositions from the same 5 modules.
A search to achieve the different and the unique, even when started from the same basics pieces. Repetition with transformation
